Visit with Jane Richmond on Saturday, January 28th!

Join us on Saturday, January 28th, from noon to 5pm, as we welcome Jane Richmond to Wet Coast Wools!

Based in Victoria, BC, Jane is a prolific knitwear designer, with more than 70 patterns to her name. I'm sure you are familiar with her designs - they include the Fireside Pullover, the Mustard Scarf, and the Cowichan Sweater-inspired West Coast Cardigan.

Jane's visit coincides with her West Coast Cardigan Knit-along, which began on January 10th and continues until February 28th, 2017. If you are participating in this KAL - or want to join in now that you've learned about it! - come on by the store to meet Jane, show off your work in progress, and talk about the different aspects of the sweater.

Even if you aren't participating in the KAL, feel free to pop by the store and say hello - Jane will be hanging out with us all afternoon and she'd love to meet you and talk about any of her knitwear designs!

Hi Margie,

Do you have any information about the company that made the yarn or even the name of the pattern? Without these specifics, it is really hard to find a match for the yarn in the kit. There was a period where Cowichan-style sweaters were very popular, but many of the companies that made them have now gone out of business.

If you have the name of the yarn and/or the company who made it, do a search in the yarn database on Ravelry.com and you might be able to find someone who has a similar yarn in their stash. That’s about all I can suggest without further details.

Thanks!
Glenda
