New friends from Drumheller, AB

December 18, 2013

Did you go to KnitCity back in October?  If so, you may remember the beautiful hand-dyed yarns made by Tara of Dragonfly Dyewerx.  Tara was in the booth right next to ours, so Roxanne and I got to know her (and her yarns!) pretty well... As I recall, a few of her skeins even managed to come home with us that weekend.

We are very excited to announce that we will now be selling Dragonfly Dyewerx yarn here at Wet Coast Wools! Our first shipment arrived this morning:

Dragonfly Dyewerx Hand-dyed Yarn

Hidden in this well packed box was a selection of Sparkle Sock yarns, BFL Sock, and - my favourite - Just Merino Shawl Skeins which contain a whopping 750 yards of super soft, squishy merino!  The range of colours goes from bright and rainbowy (like 'Jelly Bean Jumble', seen here on the right), all the way to a dark almost-black called 'Stealth Ninja'.  Tara gives her colourways such great names too - wouldn't you just love to give someone a yarn called 'Puppies and Sunshine'?  :)

I don't think we'll be able to get this yarn on to our website anytime soon, so you'll have to come by the store to see all the pretty colours (and their cool names).  If you happen to fall in love with one, maybe you can persuade your Santa to drop one in your stocking next week!   :)
