12 Gift Knits of Christmas Day 1: The Shelob Shrug, by Caitlin ffrench

The Shelob Shrug by Caitlin ffrench

The Shelob Shrug was designed by our good friend - and fellow Vancouverite - Caitlin ffrench. It comes in one very versatile (and gifting-friendly) size, and is a great addition to anyone's wardrobe - wear it over a dress or a T-Shirt for that extra little bit of warmth. It's the perfect accessory for your holiday party dress!

Originally knit in our Four Seasons Cotton, the shrug can be made in almost any worsted or aran weight yarn.  Our store sample was made with our luxurious Illimani Amelie yarn (you may have seen this one at Knit City!), and Bernadette has made a second one in 100% superwash wool. The lace in this pattern is relatively easy to knit, and should be accessible for advanced-beginner knitters. Make one, and you'll be making more for all of your friends!

Purchase the materials for this shrug in-store on December 1st and 2nd, and you will receive 20% off the yarn and pattern needed for this project.*  We have an in-store sample, which you are welcome to try on - you might end up needing to make one for yourself as well!

*Sorry, but the discount does not apply to needles. The discount is limited to 2 projects per person, per day.
