12 Gift Knits of Christmas Day 3: Knitted Toys!

If you have spent any amount of time in our store, you will know that we are slightly obsessed with knitting random creatures and toys. Most of our store window ideas begin with Glenda (and now Bernadette, too!) wanting to knit some random animal or object - and what better justification for knitting that random thing than to make it the focal point of a new window display?!  ;)

Almost all of the creature patterns that we knit are available on Ravelry.  The patterns range in difficulty level, from super-easy to very time-consuming.  The harder patterns are usually more fiddly, with lots of pieces that need to be knit up and then sewn together. If you don't have a lot of time (or patience!), you will probably want to look for patterns that are knit mostly in one piece, to minimize the amount of sewing-up that you will have to do. Susan Claudino, Rebecca Danger, and Anna Hrachovec (of Mochimochi Land) are just a few designers with fairly easy-to-follow toy patterns, but there are many more out there!

On December 5th and 6th, you can get 20% off the pattern and yarn need to make a knit or crochet toy.* If you have a pattern in mind, bring that in; if not, we can help you choose a pattern from among the ones that are available through Ravelry's In-store Sales Program.

*Sorry, but the discount does not apply to needles. The discount is limited to 2 projects per person, per day
