RainCityKnits is here!

September 01, 2012

We are very excited to welcome RainCityKnits to our collection of locally produced yarns!

Krista, owner and designer of RainCityKnits believes in practicing Good Business.  She imports her yarn from a collective in Uruguay, where everyone is paid fairly for their work.  She hand-dyes the yarn in her Vancouver studio using non-toxic dyes, creating a palette of bright colours.

We currently have a selection of 13 colours of 100% Wool, fingering-weight yarn.  Each skein contains 454 yards of yarn - more than enough for the average pair of adult socks.  I think this yarn would look fantastic as a little shawl, or maybe a hat & scarf set.  As Krista herself says, these colours are the perfect antidote to the grey skies of a We(s)t Coast winter!
