Yarn Harvest is this Saturday!

September 21, 2012

Yarn Harvest is an annual, city-wide Yarn Store Crawl organized by the Fraser Valley Knitters' Guild.  The goal is to spend Yarn Harvest Day visiting as many yarn stores as possible, stocking up on yarn for all your autumn projects - a goal that is made much easier by fact that registration in the event gives you a 15% discount on most products in participating stores.  Online registration closed about a week ago, but I believe you can still register in select brick & mortar stores - check out the Knitters' Guild website for more information.

To celebrate the big day, we've planned a number of fun events.  The store will be open from 9am to 6pm (for maximum harvesting time!).  Special guest Krista, from RainCityKnits will be joining us from Noon until 4pm, showing off some of her new striped sock yarn.  We have also just received a shipment of Indigo Moon's new hand-dyed worsted weight yarn - only four colours are available, so get them while they last!

Make sure to enter our in-store draw while you're here - first prize is this Retro Thrummed Slipper Kit from Imperial Yarns, in Pine Tree Green.  Never made thrums before?  We have a sample slipper ready-made, and I'll be happy to show you how its done! :)

We'll also have a number of yarns on sale, so even if you're not participating in the Harvest, you can still get in on some deals.  And if you come by around mid-day, you might even be in time for cupcakes!
