One Hat, Two Ways...

If you follow us on Instagram, you may have seen this photo that I reposted from Bernadette's photostream.

The pattern used here is Autumn, by Jane Richmond, a fantastic designer from Vancouver Island. The slouchy hat pattern calls for Super Bulky yarn - Bernadette knit the rainbow version with Lana Grossa Olympia Pastel, in "Rainbow", and the blue version with Nako Spaghetti Effect in "Taj Mahal".  Although the pattern calls for 100m of yarn, you don't need the full skein for one hat. With the skein of Olympia, which has 100m per ball, Bernadette had enough yarn leftover to make her giant pom pom! (The Nako skein has only 60m, so there were no leftovers).

When you purchase this pattern, Jane kindly includes a copy of Autumn Leftovers, which is a non-slouchy, kiddo sized version of this hat. Together, the two hat sizes will use up 100m of yarn - so remember to buy an extra skein of Nako if you want to add pom poms! :)
