Just because its summer, doesn't mean you have to stop knitting - especially here in Vancouver, where warm weather and sunny skies can quickly turn into a few days of cool weather and rainy skies.
To make sure you have lots to do on these non-beach friendly days, we have been busy restocking our shelves with your favourite yarns. This morning we received a new shipment from Indigo Moon, containing 9 colours of fingering weight merino wool - including six skeins of Trish's gorgeous handpainted colourways! Included in the box was a new colour of Indigo Moon's Merino Worsted: Golden Sunset, a lovely warm orange colour, which you can see at the centre left of this photo.
Another big favourite that arrived this week is Malabrigo Rios, a soft, machine washable, worsted weight wool. This yarn is perfect for scarves, cowls, hats, baby blankets, even sweaters! Have you seen the new Simple Collection from TinCanKnits? I think Malabrigo Rios would be the perfect yarn for making either Malt or Wheat, the first two patterns in this collection. Wheat, the scarf, will be nice and cozy come winter, while Malt, a baby blanket, will show off the kettle-dyed colourways beautifully! Get this yarn soon though, this stuff doesn't last! :)
We have also restocked our supply of summer knitting magazines, since our first batch sold out so quickly. We have the summer 2013 issues of both Interweave Knits and Knitscene, the Spring 2013 edition of KnitWear (the one with the yellow cover), and the recently released Knitscene Accessories 2013. Please call ahead to check inventory of these magazines, as we don't list them on our website.
