12 Gift Knits of Christmas Day 2: The Offhand Lace Shawl, by Caitlin ffrench

December 03, 2016

Our second gift knit features another pattern from our friend Caitlin ffrench! Made from only 300m of your favourite bulky weight yarn, The Offhand Lace Shawl knits up quickly into a super-cozy shawl that is great for keeping out the chill!

Offhand Lace Shawl by Caitlin ffrenchThis shawl can be wrapped around your neck on a cold day, or thrown over your shoulders to keep you warm while sitting at your desk (great for poorly-heated office buildings!).

There are lots of yarn choices for this shawl too - for a super-soft version, make it with our Illimani Llama II or Super Alpaca yarns. For a machine-washable version, try our Estelle Chunky yarn.  We have also seen this knit up with one skein of our Stout yarn - the ombre nature of the yarn carries through into the design, giving it a subtle dip-dyed look!

If want to change the size of the shawl, Caitlin's pattern also  includes instructions on how to do this - although we can't promise that a fingering-weight version will knit up as quickly as the bulky one! ;)

Shop in-store for the materials for this shawl on December 3rd and 4th, and you will receive 20% off your yarn!* The pattern is available free on Ravelry, so you can get started knitting it right away!

*The discount is limited to 2 projects per person, per day.
