Chinese New Year Ox, by Stephanie Jessica Lau, knit in acrylic from my stash
Super Bulky Hat, knit in Custom Woolen Mills Prairie Wool Bulky 6-Strand in Dark Grey and Denim Blue
Mittens for All Ages by Mary Mouzar, knit in Istex Bulky Lopi in Navy and Gjestal Naturgarn No. 1 in Bright Blue and Deep Red. The Gjestal yarn is thinner than the Bulky Lopi, so the fabric was really loose and see-through. I decided to felt the mittens to make them wearable.
New Afterthought Heels in old Circular Sock Machine Socks, knit in Rellana Flotte Socke 4 fach / 4 ply Herbstzauber 05 and Jawoll Superwash Solids in Italian Plum
Two pairs of Scavenger Fingerless Mittens by Kelsey Zachary, knit in K-Zip Knits yarns. There are mitten kits on the website, and the pattern is available on Ravelry. Watch the episode to get a discount code for the mitten kits, available on KZipKnits.com. You can select local pick up if you are in the lower mainland. :)
Basic Toque, knit in GarnStudio DROPS Andes
Basic ribbed toque, knit in Fleece Artist Olann
Mistake Rib Scarf by Purl Soho.
Vanessa Headband by Nancy Ricci knit in Malabrigo Rasta. I envision myself wearing my hair in braids, wearing a whimsical jumpsuit over a knit top and wearing this headband as I dye yarn. That is the vision!
Works in Progress
Mira’s Cowl by Baah Yarn, knit in K-Zip Knits fingering in “Bite Me”
WCW Bingo-A-Long 2020
January Winner, please contact us to claim your prize!
To Join this year’s bingo, add your name to the Sign Ups Thread and tell us what your two challenges will be for the CYOC squares.
You must make one item for each square. You cannot use the same item for two squares, even if it could meet the requirements of both.
Items on the Knit board should be knit, Crochet Board items should be Crocheted. One of your two CYOC squares can be a fibre art other than knitting or crochet (not sewing, it has to involve fibre)
Your CYOC challenges cannot incorporate a project from one of the other squares. This is on a bigger scale too - so you can’t say that you’re going to make all of your projects from stash, and have that count as a challenge.
Specific rules for each square were discussed in Episode 109
When you have completed a row of projects, declare it in the monthly Bingo Row Threads to be entered to win a prize.
Our store is open for in-store shopping!
Please follow our rules when you come to shop:
Wear a mask that covers your mouth AND nose.
Do not come in if you are feeling unwell, even if you do not have Covid.
Only 2 people in the shop at one time. As you come in, please check with staff to see if you can come in - or just take a quick look to see if there are other people already there.
Please don’t linger if there are other people waiting. You can ‘pre-shop’ on the website to get an idea of what you might be interested in - that way you can be more efficient on the busier shopping days.
We cannot offer hands-on help (we cannot touch your yarn or needles) but we can give advice, time permitting. If you need detailed help, please email us
Please use hand sanitizer when you come in, and only touch things you might buy
Our online shop is still open for store pick ups; we have shifted our ‘Free Shipping’ minimum to $75 now that the store has reopened. If you want to pick up your order, we will email you when it is ready. Please come between Noon and 5pm to collect your order.
