Yarn came from our friend Karen; started first version on New Years’ Eve Day, had to frog the first yoke (got to 1” past the sleeve separation, but it was way too big), cast on this version on Jan 1st, finished Jan 8th,.
Had to knit the sleeves 4 times to get them right. Then they grew after washing, so I may still pull them back 2” and shorten them a bit. Blocking for sweaters is the same as washing them - don’t be afraid to block a sweater after you knit it - that’s the whole point of washing your swatch before you measure your gauge. Even if you don’t block it right away, it will grow just as much when you finally have to wash the sweater, so you might as well get it over with once you finish knitting (not to mention this takes off all the dirt collected while carrying the sweater around as you knit it!).
