FOs (Finished Objects)
Glenda: Wearing - Breathing Space by Veera Välimäki knit by shop regular and friend Karen!

Kelsey: Wearing - Adama Cowl, by Hillary Smith Callis

  • Mally 6-ply Christmas socks for Chris
  • Adama Cowl by Hillary Smith Callis Made with Malabrigo Rios in colourway Quegauy

Sara: Wearing - Still Light Tunic by Veera Välimäki knit with O-Wool O-wash Sport in the Devils Pool colourway

  • Flax Light by TinCanKnits in Patons Kroy Sock Rainbow Stripes colourway, just under two balls. Modified to have the garter panel down the sides same as on the sleeves.
  • Non-felted Slippers by Yuko Nakamura Made with some ancient Loops and Threads that was in my stash for my mum.
  • Fidget Cowl in Noro Shiraito using the Fidget Socks stitch pattern

WIPS (Works in Progress)

  • Holidaze socks Made with Heritage Prints sock yarn from Cascade yarns . Here’s last years “holidays” sock from cascade to compare with the new colourway that cascade used to replace it.
  • Gingerbread house by Frankie Brown I forgot how much I really dislike knitting with pure acrylic. It really strips my hands moisture away and I already beat them up a lot playing violin. I found that even though it’s not a huge project overall, I have had to limit myself to how much I can work on it before my hands start to hurt and react to the synthetic fibre. It was important to make it out of a synthetic so that when it’s in storage during the year, no moths will shred it to bits.

  • Ten Stitch Blanket by Frankie Brown Made with sock yarn scraps, mostly from socks I’ve knit this past year. If any regulars to the shop want to trade or sell me their fingering weight scraps, I’m your gal!
  • Timber Trail Hat by Jennifer Lysen Dream In Color Smooshy in the Cranberry Melt colourway. Modified to have a twisted rib brim because I’m a suck for how it looks. Great simple pattern.

  • Professor Meow Sweater, KnitPicks Pattern by Claire Slade Made with Diamond Tradition This is for a class; downsizing to fit a 6 year old by knitting in worsted instead of bulky yarn. Our final class was last night - I seamed the shoulders and knit the neck; I will finish the rest this weekend.
  • New Christmas Socks for me Regia Season Color in candy cane ; 2.25mm needles

Store News

  • KAL Updates - Our sweater KAL ends on December 31st, so you have a few more weeks to finish a sweater and post it in the Ravelry Group. We have 333 sweaters posted, with several people who have knit close to the 12-sweater limit! YOU PEOPLE ARE AMAZING!
  • New Christmas Sock Yarn from Cascade - First shipment vanished in 4 hours. We have 20 more balls coming on Dec 12th - not sure what time that day, but it goes online right after we check it into inventory.
  • We also have Kelsey’s KZip Knits sock yarn - it is online now
  • Not going to do our Brown Bag Sock Club in January; but I’m feeling the need to jump on the ‘use up my stash’ bandwagon. We will talk about new KALs in the next episode.
