  • Dancers Legs made with Malabrigo Rios in black on a 4.5mm needle. I designed these leggings for my friend who’s a pro dancer and wanted something to wear for rehearsals that would keep both his feet and his legs warm. You can find the pattern for these on my ravelry page! It’s my first shared pattern so comments and suggestions are welcomed!
  • All-In-One Sleeveless Baby Top by Marianna Mel. 6mos size, King Cole Cherish in Humbug colourway. Just a super sweet, cute, quick knit. I only used about 2/3rds of the ball so if you wanted to do a bigger size, you wouldn’t necessarily have to get more yarn. Who doesn’t love a single skein project?
  • White Buffalo #A6521, Slippers for Everybody from White Buffalo - Using Briggs and Little Super and Earth Collection’s Homestead yarn held together to make it extra dense and give it a marled texture. I have knit easily 12+ pairs of these slippers for friends and family and myself. I knit them on an 8mm needle. I love experimenting with holding yarns together, usually starting with 6 ply from Custom Woolen Mills or the Super from Briggs & Little. I thinking my favourite pairs are ones I’ve held with the Noro Rainbow Roll pencil roving.

WIPS (Works in Progress)

  • Las Vegas Socks for Mike. We bought this yarn from Sin City Yarns in Las Vegas (Fall 2016). I was knitting the first one on the flight(s) home; tried it on when I got almost to the toe, but it didn’t fit him - I had to pull back and make the heel flap longer to make it fit better. I’m doing these on square needles, so I think that changed my row gauge. Mike needs a heel flap that is 3” long. 64 sts, 2.5mm square DPNs, yarn is Lane Cervinia Forever
  • Waiting for Rain by Softsweater Knits in Briggs & Little Sport in Grey Heather colourway. 4mm needles. Just finished the garter section, about to start the first lace section.
  • MrWetCoastWools’ socks made with Custom Woolen Mills 2-Ply Mulespun in Dark Grey, Navy, and Yellow Heather. Making these for a class, and finally writing up the pattern - will put it on Ravelry when it is available.
  • Thanks to Danita Carriere who left me a set of Addi Flexi Flips to try out - I will do that asap, using some Turtle Purl sock yarn in the 88 Stitches colourway

  • Il Grande Favorito by Isabel Kraemer. Using Knit One Crochet Too Apres Ski in Montana Sky. Had to rewrite the pattern to accommodate my size and then rework all the numbers again for a different gauge as I wanted to do it in a single strand of this lovely worsted weight yarn. I’m planning to do a colourwork band around the bottom before the final ribbing just to jazz it up a little.
  • Angels Flight Socks - These are a test knit for YarnOverNewYork. I love Jessie’s patterns and finally it’s worked out that I am able to test knit for her again. I love the simple construction of these, done toe-up with this cool slipped pattern.I can’t give you too many more specifics as the pattern is still testing, but typical sock form - 2.5mm needle, and I’m knitting on Smith and Ewe’s spark lesock base in the colourway, Persian Nights.
  • Riding the Rails by Debbie O’Neill on Brisbane yarn - Greenfin Parrotfish colourway. Loved the look of the pattern even though it was tedious to do the cuff. It eventually just didn’t work for my foot so I ended up frogging and making it into a vanilla super sock!

New yarns in stock since January:

  • Queensland Brisbane - 100% superwash wool
  • New kid-friendly yarn: Euro Baby Babe 100 - 55% Acrylic, 45% Nylon, 100g/ball. This shipped yesterday, should be here next week sometime.
  • Rustic Lace Quad - 75% Wool, 25% Silk (very similar to the old Holst Samarkand). 1 cake has 1257 yards in 4 colours. Comes with a pattern, but I think you could do some fun things by combining two strands and marling the colours.
