Join Alexa Ludeman of Tin Can Knits on a Strange Brew Colourwork Adventure!
On June 16th, Alexa will teach you how to design and knit your own colourwork sweater. She will review swatching and size calculation, and then focus on how to select and combine colours for a circular colourwork yoke. With this information, you can go on to make any of the sweaters in Strange Brew, or create an entirely new unique design.
Please bring two colours of yarn in the same weight, as well as 16" circular needles in the correct size for your yarn. You can use any weight of yarn you like (fingering, DK, chunky, etc) - the swatch can become a hat, or can be the start of your new sweater (you will also be able to purchase yarn for this during the class, but it would help to have it ready in advance). A pattern booklet is included in the class fee.
This is an intermediate level class. You should have experience with working in the round, and with working from knitting patterns.
Maximum 10 students.
Cost: $65 plus taxes and materials (see below)
Dates & Time:
Sunday, June 16th, 11am to 4pm
The class fee includes a pattern booklet.
Two colours of yarn in the same yarn weight, with a combined amount for making a hat. The hat will act as your sweater swatch, so it would be best do bring yarn in the same weight as you will want to use in your colourwork sweater.
16" circular needles in a size suitable for your yarn.
Tapestry needles, stitch markers, and your usual knitting tools.
Students receive a 10% discount on class materials when purchased in-store.
