Wet Coast Wools is owned and operated by me (Glenda McDonald) and my husband, Michael Delage. I grew up in North Vancouver and first learned to knit while studying at the University of British Columbia. Years later, while pursuing a Ph.D. in Newcastle, England, I was fortunate enough to meet up with a great group of knitters, from whom I gained a deeper knowledge of yarns and knitting techniques, as well as a sense of the strong friendships that can be developed through a shared love of crafting.
Knitting has been a passion for me since I first picked up the needles, and I want Wet Coast Wools to reflect the things that I love about knitting: being creative, sharing projects and ideas with other knitters, challenging myself to try new things, and, of course, working with fun yarn.
At Wet Coast Wools our goal is to feature a selection of yarns that we feel provides a great combination of quality and affordability. For every yarn in our store, we can tell you what it is that we love about it and why we wanted to carry it in our store. We also want to feature a collection of locally produced yarns, which are created by fibre artisans from all over the West Coast. In this way, we hope to help promote the work of our local artisans, and help them share their love of fibre with fellow knitters and crocheters.
