Beginner Knitting Lessons

Want to learn to knit?  Our three-session beginner knitting courses are for absolute beginners, and for knitters who are returning to the craft after a long break.  The course will teach you how to cast-on, work knit and purl stitches, increase and decrease stitches, and cast-off.  We will also discuss how to choose yarns for a specific pattern, how and why to create gauge swatches, and how to work from a commercial pattern.  A small project will be created by the end of the three classes (some homework will be required)  Maximum 4 students per class.

Cost: $84 plus taxes and materials (see below)

Dates & Time:

Wednesdays, May 3rd, 10th, and 17th, 6:30 to 8:30pm (with Glenda).

Materials required:

50-100g of worsted weight wool and appropriately-sized needles.

Suggested yarns include Custom Woolen Mills 2-Ply Mulespun (100% wool) and Diamond Luxury Tradition (42% Wool/51% Acrylic/7% Nylon), either of which can be used with 5.5 mm/US 9 needles.

Students receive a 10% discount on class materials when purchased in-store.

Registration Policies:

  • Registration and payment of fees must be completed two days prior to the start date in order to secure a seat.
  • Payment can be made online, or in store.
  • A minimum number of students is required for each class.  We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the class if the minimum is not met.
  • Cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the start of the class; your original receipt is required in order to receive a full refund.
  • Please purchase all materials in advance of the first class unless otherwise noted.
