The Georgian Bay Fibre Company is based in Parry Sound, Ontario, on the shores of Lake Huron. Their colourways are inspired by life on the Georgian Bay, with a different has a story for each colour. The yarn bases are created from Blue-faced Leicester fleeces that are sourced in Italy, milled in Southern Ontario, and kettle-dyed in Parry Sound.
Blue-faced Leicester (or BFL) is a hard-wearing wool, which knits up into a lovely, drapey fabric that is ideal for shawls and sweaters. While BFL has some natural resistance to felting, please note that this yarn is not superwash treated - garments made from this yarn should be hand-washed and dried flat
