Intro to Weaving on the Rigid Heddle Loom

Want to learn how to weave tea-towels, scarves, and other items?

This 3-session class will teach you the basics of how to weave on a Rigid Heddle Loom. We will use the direct warping method to warp the loom, and then learn the basic techniques of creating fabric. The class will provide you with enough understanding to delve deeper into the topic on your own.

Maximum 4 students per class.

Cost: $80

Dates & Time:

Wednesdays, June 6th, 13th, and 20th, 6:30-8:30 PM  (sold out)

More sessions will be posted soon!

Materials required:

A rigid heddle loom, warping peg, and associated accessories. If you do not own a loom, you may rent one for an additional fee of $260 (includes a $250 refundable deposit).

Cotton will be provided for the first project. You may wish to bring your own cotton or cotton blends to combine with this yarn.

In weeks 2 & 3 you will have time to experiment with your own projects - this is a great chance to use up some of your knitting stash! We will discuss ideas in class, and talk about which yarns are most suitable for weaving.
