Ordering yarn online can feel a little different than shopping in person, especially when it comes to dye lots, shipping, and timing. This guide is here to help answer common questions and set expectations so your order arrives just the way you expect.

Dye Lots

Yarn is dyed in batches, known as dye lots. Even when the colour name and brand are the same, different dye lots can vary slightly.

What this means for you:

  • All skeins shipped within a single order will be from the same dye lot.
  • If you place a later order for the same colour, a matching dye lot cannot be guaranteed.
  • Colours may appear different on screen depending on your device and display settings.
  • If you’re planning a larger project (like a sweater), we strongly recommend purchasing all the yarn you need in one order.
  • If you are looking for a specific dye lot, or hoping to match a previous order, please email us before placing your order and we’ll let you know what’s currently available.

Multiple Orders & Combining Shipping

We understand that sometimes orders are placed separately, but shipping is calculated per order.

  • Orders placed separately are treated as separate shipments.
  • If shipping is charged on one or more orders, those shipping fees are non-refundable, even if orders are later combined into a single shipment.
  • Free shipping thresholds apply per order only. Orders placed separately are not retroactively adjusted or refunded to qualify for free shipping.
  • Once an order has been packed or shipped, we’re unable to combine it with another order.
  • If you need to add to an existing order, placing an additional order and selecting store pickup at checkout is the easiest way to have items combined before shipping.


Shipping Basics

  • All orders ship with tracking.
  • Orders are dispatched from Vancouver within 1–2 business days, excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
  • During peak periods processing times may take a little longer. If there is ever a significant delay, we’ll be in touch.
  • You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking details once your order is on its way.


Local Pickup

Local pickup is available at our Kitsilano location.

  • Pickup details and timing will be provided once your order is ready.
  • Please wait for a pickup notification before coming by.
